Natural, Safe, and Effective Argon extinguishes a fire by displacing oxygen. When oxygen levels fall below the limit required for combustion, the fire is suppressed. Argon is found naturally in the air and thus does not have adverse effect on the atmosphere. The Minimax Argon system is a single gas inert system available per NFPA 2001, with zero Ozone Depleting Potential and zero Global Warming Potential. No complicated blends. Minimax Argon systems utilize a single molecule Ar gas.

There are no complicated blends to deal with, as a single molecule gas Argon has been found to be effective on many Class D hazards. The single molecule structure is more stable in the higher heat conditions common in metal fires involving magnesium and lithium. At higher concentrations Argon can be a viable alternative to standard Class D dry powders. With proper design application and detection, Argon systems are effective on many hard-to-protect hazards.
